DESOLATION SCENE // 3rd August 2015
Russian photographer Ralph Mirebs recently visited an abandoned hangar at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. He brought back great pictures of a rather sad scenery: in the hangar are lying two unused burans which are the prototype space shuttles of the Russian space program that lasted from 1974 to 1993. It was later shut down due to a lack of funding after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The site was left on its own and rapidly deteriorated to the public’s despair.
